Artist Introduction
As a multidisciplinary artist exploring the role of tradition in contemporary life, my chosen media ranges from film, phothgraphy and painting to textile arts, and drawing. My work often draws from Irish culture, from the energy of traditional music sessions to the layered landscapes of the Limerick countryside, and examines shared beliefs such as the fairy folk and the nuanced layers of “Irishness.” By merging media such as crochet and drawing I create pieces that translate meaning rather than simply describe it, using repetition and careful curation of light, shadow, and form. My practice celebrates cultural richness while inviting reflection on the traditions and ideas that shape us, connecting the past with the present and encouraging a deeper appreciation of our shared heritage.
